Congratulations to the 1999 and 2000 Columbus Futsal players who were selected to represent their country and play for the U.S. Youth Futsal National Teams! They will embark on a journey to Costa Rica July 23rd for three international matches. These are the first players from Columbus Futsal and the Central Ohio area to play for USYFNT.

5,000 futsal players began this process at the state level, over 500 attended the National ID trials, and these 3 were selected from the Columbus Futsal Academy in Columbus, OH. All 3 academy athletes started playing futsal when they were 7 and 8 years old. Selection process still continues for the younger age groups as a total of 7 athletes from Columbus attended the National ID trials including Audrey Gibson-Zweifel from Hilliard, Caitylyn Chittum from Grove City, Roman Altieri from Upper Arlington, and Ashton Galiffo from Columbus. This is an extraordinary accomplishment for the academy, led by Director of Youth Development and Men's Pro Team player, Dante Garcia.

The trial is led by the U.S. Youth Futsal Coaching Staff and Keith Tozer, U.S. Youth Futsal Technical Director and U.S. Men's Futsal National Team Coach.

Players are evaluated throughout the National ID event, top players chosen for U.S. Youth Futsal Teams will train together and travel internationally. Recent trips include Toronto, Canada, Medellin, Colombia and San Jose, Costa Rica.

Cade Remy

Cade has been playing futsal and street soccer with Coach Dante since he was 8 years old, making appearances in both the academy and men's team competitions. He grew up playing club soccer under the Crew Academy and is a recent graduate of Northridge High School in Johnstown, OH. Cade will continue his academic and athletic career at West Virginia University shortly after his return from USYFNT commitments in Costa Rica. In his spare time, Cade is an avid fisherman.

Owen Rhydderch

Owen became a part of the Columbus Futsal family in 2016 and has since made many appearances in both the youth academy and men's pro team, including Futsal Copa North America this past April. Owen flies to Columbus for training from Philidelphia, PA and travels wherever he is needed for the club. He is the definition of commitment and his performance on the court shows. He is no rookie to the futsal scene and hopes to one day play for the U.S. Men's Futsal National Team. Owen also enjoys practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu when not playing goliero.

Futsal became her passion when she started playing at age 8 and she is well on her way to achieving one of her goals at just 16 years old. Maddie enjoys sightseeing and will be able to do plenty while representing the United States July 23-30 in Costa Rica.
